Why is no one talking about Apple's iPhone event being on the same day as the Amazon Prime Day? http://dlvr.it/RjHYwf
@matigo yeah… we're squarely moving into the subscriptions for everything space…

I heard about the sync issues, but they rarely seem to affect me, because once I've put something in a D1 instance on either of the platforms, that's that for me. It's more an exercise in freeing up my mental space (and getting reminded of things through the On This Day feature).
Applets that work well with D1 for me - save my liked and posted tweets in D1, save my own blog posts in D1 as a backup and as a discovering what I wrote a few years ago mechanism. When the car monitoring company Automatic was a thing (pandemic killed them), I would get metrics about my car into a D1 diary I kept for it. Other people use the Instagram applet to get their photo posts to D1, or to their wp blogs, or to twitter. D1's own Instagram connector works better, though…
Oh, and the whole writing into D1 using telegram happens through D1…

@matigo the one big reason for me to use IFTTT is to connect with Day One, which still doesn't have an open API (for their v2 product even though v1 had it) after all these years of them promising it.
The other piece is a nifty tooling I built where every new comment or highlight I make in Instapaper gets sent to my WordPress instance so I can convert it into a blogpost eventually…
and other things I'm discovering now that I'm paying for Pro :)

@matigo perhaps one condition of you moving to a managerial role would be to have the freedom to create your own team.
@sumudu yup! It getting a little cumbersome because the app has become heavier, but it's still better than anything out there and I'm sorta committed to it. You're recommending connecting IFTTT to it?
// @matigo
@sumudu haha ok then… I'll stick to my normal account. This is an experiment for me anyways. If it doesn't work, I'll 'pause' my payment at the end of the month.
That their scripting is in JS is rather telling… :D

@sumudu it was a little surprising when I plugged your post into google translate and it told me that you have Sinhala letters on your phone!
