Oh… VPN vs Smart DNS to work around geo-locked services like BBC iPlayer and Netflix. There are services like Unlocator which allow one to use American Netflix outside the US… Just wondering how changing the DNS achieves this.

and it seems my main problem with Ghostery was that the extension would take too long to approve a site before it let loading proceed. It would remain stuck at "waiting for extension Ghostery". Would Disconnect do the same?
