I LOVE uBlock Origin's ability to pick any element to block off any page. Autoplay video? Block. Stupidly large header? Block!! That said, perhaps it'd be simpler to whitelist JS with no-JS on most sites?
@matigo use one of those services that let you watch YT on loop. I think https://www.infinitelooper.com/ is one of the cleanest ones.
@variablepulserate somehow, supply chain is easier to track because it's physical stuff being moved around and can be photographed.
Software is too easy for Apple to pull out. They've even pulled stuff which they put in the final betas of the recent major iOS versions. So I don't see how Kuo or anyone can be good at those!

@matigo so… an oft-told tale around that in Botswana was that the Chinese living in the country would keep shotguns in their homes and kill the intruder. No living intruder, no 'other side' to the story…
Not sure how true that story is, but it sure was an effective story in keeping thieves away from Chinese homes.
@joeo10 I sure am not looking forward to the portless iPhones of 2021. So yeah, worth buying something before that.
@joeo10 iPhone will probably come in non-5G versions which will be cheaper (+/- based on whether they throw in the 'premium' features which will definitely be in the 5G version). So it'd be worth it to buy the 2020 cheaper versions instead of the 2019 high end versions. Let's see…
@matigo the victim of the crime thing is interesting!
In Botswana, the police would question and potentially punish a homeowner if they attacked a thief, with the common refrain being, "Why did you shoot him? He was just trying to steal stuff."
@phoneboy hopefully the city council will continue to have the boldness with which they've taken the decision to let someone new into the market.
But guess what? @axodys watch out for an unspoken deal between TDS and Comcast where TDS won't touch many of their localities and just deploy to easier-to-work-with urban markets, thus ensuring Comcast still has full monopoly over the rural and suburban markets, while now being able to claim no monopoly exists.
It's a shame the definition of monopoly doesn't include duopoly or oligopoly in general.
