@jws I tried picking up go too, but it was too meh and not then as powerful as python.
I picked up node instead. At least people stuck with Chrome will like me… :P
@jws yeah, I didn't know that when I first ran py3 a few years ago. Instant turn off, specially since I was just learning how to #stackoverflow… I'm sure it has a lot of great benefits over py2. Let's see what happens when the vendor support ends…

@jws but they also broke some very simple things like print which didn't need a library in py2 (last time I played with py3, my yellow world itself failed).

I might pick up py3 some day, but I'll delay it as much as possible. Why take such a simple scripting language and ruin it?
It's kinda what happened with IonicFramework between 1 and 2 and now it's all up and gone to hell!
@jws oh come now! I can bet there are more python 2.x users even today, and maybe more coming in are learning 3.x, but the majority using python…
Oh wait, I just realized. I am writing a tutorial for my brother. So I'm googling basic stuff. That's maybe why google's thinking, "if he's learning, it's better he learns 3.x"…
